My name is Joey and I’m an actor and musician based in Bristol.
I trained at Rose Bruford College on the actor musicianship course and that’s what I do – I act and I play music. They both work very well together and I love creating shows and telling stories combining both these disciplines drawing on music and drama.
I have performed, musically directed, composed and arranged for productions up and down the country. Being in a room with fellow creatives and developing fresh, original and exciting work is what I do best.

The Wild and The Innocent is an actor musician theatre company, formed in 2016. The company’s focus is on creating accessible and exciting work, retelling old fables and adapting them to bring them into the modern world, making them relevant to contemporary audiences.
I am a joint creative director of the company along with actor, musician and producer Elliott Rennie.
Our most recent project was to develop the show, ICARUS, which centred around the Greek myth of Icarus and Daedalus. We received Arts Council funding for the project. One of our main aims was how to make the show accessible to both deaf and hearing audiences. We wanted to discover how best to marry the two language worlds together – that of BSL (British sign language) and spoken text.
